About the Nissan Atlas
Long before the Frontier and Titan, Nissan's everyday workhorse in Japan was the Atlas — a cab-over light-duty truck built for tight city streets, delivery routes, and trades work. The cab sits directly over the front axle, which packs a full flatbed or box body onto a short, maneuverable wheelbase, and depending on the year the Atlas shared its bones with the Nissan Cabstar and a string of badge-engineered cousins sold worldwide. US buyers chase them as compact, diesel-friendly haulers and as characterful alternatives to a full-size pickup, often specifying the TD-series turbo-diesel four.
The Atlas has been in production since the early 1980s, so first-generation trucks and F23-generation examples built in 2001 or earlier clear the 25-year rule and can ship now; later builds cross the line year by year.
