How We Vet

How FINDAJDM selects and reviews the JDM import specialists it lists: the criteria, the data, and how sponsorship is handled.

What we list

FINDAJDM lists JDM import specialists: businesses that bring Japanese-domestic and grey-market vehicles into the United States, typically under the 25-year import rule. We list importers, sourcing agents, and JDM-focused dealers rather than general used-car lots.

How a shop gets listed

Before a shop appears in the directory, we review it by hand against a few criteria:

  • Genuine JDM-import specialization: the shop actively sources or sells Japanese-domestic vehicles, beyond the occasional grey-market car in a general inventory.
  • A real, contactable business: a verifiable address, phone, and website.
  • Relevant focus or inventory: RHD sports cars, kei trucks, vans and 4×4s, Skyline/GT-R, or full-service importing.
  • Public reputation: reviews and standing are considered, though never the only factor.

Sponsorship & disclosure

Some placements on FINDAJDM are sponsored. A listed business may pay to be featured or to appear more prominently in the directory. We disclose this here for transparency, in line with FTC guidance on sponsored content. Paid placement can influence where and how prominently a shop appears; every listed importer is still selected against the specialization criteria above. If you reach an importer through FINDAJDM, always confirm pricing, availability, and details with the shop directly.

Inventory & freshness

Vehicle listings are synced from each dealer’s own listings and dated where available. Inventory moves quickly, so treat what you see as a recent snapshot, and contact the shop to confirm current stock.
