About the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
The Land Cruiser Prado is Toyota's mid-size body-on-frame 4x4, sold across most of the world but never officially in the US, which is exactly why it shows up in the import market. The 90-series (1996-2002) and 120-series (2002-2009) are the generations importers handle most, offered with the 3.4-liter 5VZ-FE V6 or, more sought-after here, the 3.0-liter 1KZ-TE and later 1KD-FTV turbo-diesel fours. Buyers want the Prado for genuine trail capability, a locking or limited-slip rear end, and diesel range that the US-market Land Cruiser never delivered in this size.
On timing, 90-series trucks built through 2001 are US-legal now, with the final 2002 builds following in 2027; the 120-series (from 2002) starts crossing the line in 2027.
