About the Toyota Chaser
Chaser is Toyota's sporty mid-size sedan, and enthusiasts almost always mean the JZX100 generation (1996-2001) and its Tourer V trim. That car pairs the 2.5-liter 1JZ-GTE turbocharged straight-six — 280 PS in single-turbo form — with rear-wheel drive and an available five-speed manual, giving it four-door practicality over a drift-ready chassis. Importers list Chasers because they offer the JZ-series turbo six and a limited-slip diff in a sleeper sedan, at prices below the equivalent Supra or Skyline, and the platform shares parts with the Mark II and Cresta.
The Chaser was discontinued in June 2001, so the JZX90 and JZX100 generations are all more than 25 years old and fully US-legal to import now.
